O'Hare Tragedy: Suspicion of Drunk Driving After Fatal Accident

The recent deadly crash in O’Hara Township is currently under investigation.

The incident occurred along Freeport Road near Powers Run Road and involved two vehicles. A 74-year-old male, Michael Vernon, tragically lost his life in the collision. Vernon's wife was critically injured and underwent surgeries following the crash. The other vehicle, driven by a 28-year-old female with an infant in the backseat, was also involved in the accident. Fortunately, both the driver and the infant are in stable condition.

There are reports suggesting that the driver of the second vehicle may have been under the influence, but no charges have been filed yet. Allegheny County homicide detectives are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the collision
